I'm a big fan of crockpot cooking and have been for a long time, though I have had long, dry spells where I didn't use my crock pot. You really can't beat the ease of use and the flavorful outcomes of this easy one dish type of cooking. Spend a few minutes in the morning and you'll have a great meal by dinner time!
One of my favorite wedding gifts was a combination crockpot/electric fryer. The porcelain insert sat right in the frying pan. It was a great multi-use appliance.
Over the years, though, that got broken and I graduated to more of a pot shaped slow cooker. The one I use now is about a 6-quart model, with a removable insert and 3 temperature settings, which is essential, in my opinion.
