Garlic Lime Marinated Salmon Recipe

Delicious Broiled Salmon Flavor!

This broiled salmon recipe couldn't be easier, quicker or more delicious!

In an effort to eat healthier a few years ago, I started buying fresh salmon portions every month when I did my grocery shopping. This was our shopping night meal each time, because it was quick & easy to make.

Plus, we not only knew it was good for us, it tasted darn good too. Now, I live in the West and folks out here can be kind of snooty about farm-bred salmon not tasting nearly as good as the wild salmon that is fairly plentiful out here at certain times of the year.

But I like the farm-bred stuff and it's a lot more affordable. However, if you want to take my recipe and apply it to wild salmon, go for it! To each his own...

Oh, and I use a store-bought marinade in the recipe below, but you could surely make your own too, if you're so inclined.

Garlic Lime Marinated Salmon

Ingredients:

Lawry's Havana Garlic & Lime marinade
Salmon portions

Directions:

Pour the marinade over both sides of the salmon. If you have time, let it sit for at least 30 minutes in the fridge, but if not, then just put it under a preheated broiler and start cooking.

I usually cook 5 to 10 minutes on one side, then flip, re-marinade and repeat, depending on the thickness of the salmon portions.

This hardly looks like a recipe, there's so little to it. But it really IS that easy. We usually serve ours with mashed potatoes and often steamed asparagus or corn on the cob. Yumm!

Variations

  • Make your own marinade, using lime juice, crushed garlic cloves and olive oil
  • Use a different kind of marinade altogether, perhaps an oriental sesame?
  • Grill the salmon on your outdoor grill
  • Bake the salmon, if you don't like the browning that occurs in the broiler or on the grill
  • Make a creamy dill sauce to serve on unmarinated broiled salmon
