As a mother, wife and just all around caretaker of my home I needed to find something that would take less time and save me money in the kitchen. I went looking for ideas and found many that seemed to be the answer. Most of them I found to be more time consuming than anything. Then, I came upon this eBook.
Freezing foods makes sense in all aspects. It's amazing how in just one afternoon you can fill a freezer full of healthy foods to feed your family for as much as a month. This eBook will show you how. It's easy to understand, has all the facts you need to know and will give you the answers to any questions you may have.
Freezer Cooking Made Simple is set up so that even the newbie cook can find what he or she needs. It explains how freezing foods can save you money and time. It talks about what you need in the way of equipment, how to shop for foods and how to cook these foods.
There is a section that explains how to safely store your freezer meals, and you even get printable labels that will help you remember exactly what you have and how to reheat it. Susanne has also included a printable shopping list along with a worksheet to help plan your meals on a weekly and monthly basis. Best of all – there are even a few recipes added to get you started.
There are a lot of junky eCookbooks available on the Web... some you'll find on almost every cooking site you go on to. I didn't really have high expectations for this one when I bought it. But I have to tell you... I REALLY liked Freezer Cooking Made Easy. There are just so many valuable, really practical suggestions.
Susanne talks from a realistic point of view... how many of us have the time to cook a whole month's worth of meals or the room to store them? I know I don't! But she talks about how you can do other kinds of freezing of meals that almost anyone could find the time/room for. It's similar in some ways to Robin Miller's approach, but she takes it to another level.
And the methods in this cookbook fit in so nicely with my whole approach to "throwing together" meals, that I wanted to be sure I put a page up here on the site to tell you about it. Yes, to be perfectly honest, I do get a small commission if you buy the book. I think that's only fair, since I'm taking the time to read the book and then write this review. But you're not the one who has to pay that... the author does it, gladly, because I help her reach an audience she might never have touched otherwise.
And this book is cheap... only $9.95, which is very reasonable. How much is your time worth?
Cons: OK... I've yet to find the perfect cookbook, and I'm afraid this one won't get that designation either. There are some typos in the book, and as an editor and writer, that eats at me. Might be picky, but typos in published material are my pet peeve! Secondly, I found the book to be a bit disorganized and repetitive at times. I think it just needed a bit tighter editing overall. But none of that really detracts from the value of this cookbook, so try not to let it throw you.
If you're looking for a way to save money and time in the kitchen, I strongly urge you to take a look at Freezer Cooking Made Simple. Once you read through it, put it into motion immediately. You will see that this is a very simple and easy way to make those hours in the kitchen count. Shopping, cooking and freezing foods aren't as hard as many of us believe. Give it a chance and you will find the answer you've been looking for all along. I know I did! ![]()
