This Italian goulash recipe was easy to make from stuff I had on hand... and the family loved it!

I started with some ground turkey which I quickly thawed in the microwave, added some fresh produce I had on hand (some from my garden) and some leftover pasta... voila! Delicious...
I'm not sure of the origin of goulash — though I know it's Hungarian — but to me, goulash just means throwing together a mish mash of ingredients that includes ground meat and tomatoes with pasta.
I realize that's not authentic goulash, so please don't send me nasty grams. It's just a word I'm using for lack of anything better. :-)
So, anyway, here's the Italian goulash recipe I threw together...
Ingredients:
Olive oil
2 cups cooked leftover pasta
1/2 to 3/4 pound ground turkey
2 to 3 fresh tomatoes, chopped
1 onion
1 or 2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 palmful oregano
Couple sprigs fresh basil
1 tsp. or so paprika
Salt & pepper
Directions:
First, brown the ground turkey in 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet. Stir frequently, until meat is nicely browned and thoroughly cooked. Add the chopped onion to skillet too, along with the garlic, oregano, basil and paprika.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Next, add the tomato. Stir everything together and cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender. Then, add the cooked pasta and heat through.
This Italian goulash recipe serves about 3 or 4 people, depending on the size of their appetites.
