Small Kitchen Appliances: Crock-Pot SCV401TR 4-Quart Oval Manual Slow Cooker

(Thrown-Together-Meals.com)
The good old slow cooker, originated by the Rival company under the brand "Crockpot" enjoyed tremendous popularity for a couple of decades and then fell into disuse. But recently, slow cookers are enjoying a revival.
I have always cooked in a slow cooker, and I've owned many different kinds. But the one shown here is the type I have now. I love the removable stoneware insert, the adjustable heat settings and clear glass top where you can check cooking progress without breaking the seal, so to speak.
And you can't beat a price of less than $25 either.
I've made soups, chilis, roasts, polenta and even oatmeal in mine. They've all turned out great. I highly recommend this model if you just want a basic, but dependable crockpot.
