Yumm... is there anything better than nice hot & hearty soup on a cold day? I think not...

Soups and stews can be as hearty or light as you like actually, depending on the soup recipe you use and what you put into it. Soups can also be hot or cold, though I mostly make hot ones.

Soup can stand alone as a meal or you can pair it with some type of sandwich. I frequently will serve grilled cheese sandwiches with lighter soups, such as french onion soup.

Soups are also one of the easiest thrown together recipes you can create... basically just throw whatever you want into the pot and cook for a while to see what happens. :-)
